A catalogue of the fragments is given by Katharina Heyden, who lists all the fragments and discusses them: Die Christliche Geschichte des Philippos von Side: Mit einem kommentierten Katalog der Fragmente, in M. Wallraff (ed.), Julius Africanus und die christliche Weltchronistik (Berlin, 2006), pp. 209-243. All these fragments are translated into English in the present translation. Includes extracts from "narratio de rebus persicis".

Translated by Arent Jan Wensinck (d. 1939). Published in Amsterdam in 1923. The author is also known as Isaac the Syrian, and the work as the Ascetical Homilies. This first series of treatises was very popular and was translated from Syriac into Greek and other languages. A second series of mystical treatises does exist in Syriac and was recently discovered and translated by Sebastian Brock.
